Theatrical, Film & TV Bio Michelle began her theatrical career at the tender age of 6 in the local community theatre production of Fiddler on the Roof and has been hooked ever since. She began her professional career in 1987 at the New Rose Theatre in Portland OR while studying theatre, dance and music at Portland State University. She went on to work at Portland Repertory Theatre, Portland Civic Theatre and at Artists Repertory Theatre before relocating to NYC in 1989. While continuing her training in NYC, Michelle performed professionally at Playwrights Horizons on Theatre Row in addition to pursing a career as a singer/songwriter at music venues around the city. She also experienced success in the world of TV commercials and became distracted from her love of theatre by making a living—She has been seen in national network commercials for AT&T, Sprint, Pringles, the Red Cross, Mcdonalds and Pizza Hut among others. Before focusing primarily on her music, she did her stint as a dayplayer and an extra on many films. (She—and her hair!—can be seen briefly as Mary Stuart Masterson’s secretary in the movie Bed of Roses.) Michelle’s training in New York began at Playwrights Horizons Theatre School. She also had the privilege of studying with Uta Hagen for 3 years at HB Studios. In 1993 she began intensive study with Ketul Arnold at Rasa Yoga where she became a certified yoga teacher. She began studying voice with Elynn Diamond @ Carnegie Hall in 1994 where she went on to become a faculty member and began to develop her own approach to the work incorporating her lifetime of theatre and movement training with her singing performance process which developed into the work she facilitates today.
